Theta Tau is the oldest, largest, and foremost co-ed professional fraternity for engineers. Since its founding at the University of Minnesota in 1904, over 30,000 have been initiated over the years. With emphasis on quality and a strong fraternal bond, the Fraternity has chapters in only ABET accredited schools, and limits to seventy the number of student members in any one of its chapters across the nation. The purpose of Theta Tau is to develop and maintain a high standard of professional interest among its members, and to unite them in a strong bond of fraternal fellowship. The members of Theta Tau are: Honest and Ethical, Dependable and Trustworthy, Respectful, Generous, and Proud of our Community of Engineers.
We develop and nurture engineers with strong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership skills that we demonstrate in our profession, our community, and in our lives..
We forge lifelong bonds of fraternal friendship, a journey that develops and delivers a network of lasting personal and professional relationships. We foster an inviting, safe, and social environment in which our members become lifelong friends.
We are known for our service to our college, university and the larger community. Our service projects create a unifying environment for learning and personal growth for our members.
We recruit new members in the beginning of every semester. Be sure to attend our rush events for Spring 2017! Rushing a fraternity is the process of getting to know more about the organization, what they are all about and meeting the brothers. During rush, interested students are introduced to the brothers through various activites hosted throughout the week. After getting to know the brothers for a few weeks, of the select potential new members, will begin the pledge process. This pledge period tests those potential new members dedication to representing the 3 pillars of Service, Professionalism, and Brotherhood. Pledging requires your complete dedication and time commitment. We hope to see you this coming September! Be sure to attend our rush events or email us at ruthetatau@gmail.com for more information! Note that we adhere to the Rutgers hazing and alcohol policies which are conveniently located here: OFSA Hazing and Alcohol Prevention Policy
